Bridging to Juniors from Brownies

Mom's Famous Soda Bread

*mom's note: I know this is actually Aunt Tara's recipe, but from Melanie's perspective it's her Grammie's. We made 2 loaves together to bring to her homeschool international potluck with a map of Graiguenamanagh, the village in County Kilkenny from where our ancestors originated (at least on the Doyle side).

January 28th Field Trip

My Favorite Tree

This is a liger

A liger is a big cat. It cannot be found in the wild because it is only bred by humans by crossing a male lion and a female tiger.

Good night

*Mom's Note: I discovered this in Melanie & Leo's room.

Here is the reverse:

Letter to Mac

*Mom's Note: Mac is one of Mel's nature school teachers who is bravely undergoing chemo for melanoma. I knit him a hat and Mel drew him this beautiful picture and wrote this sweet letter so we can send him a care package. We love you, Mac!

Baking Bread! PART 1

Mom's Note: This is a great no-knead bread that makes 4 loaves!  You mix the dough, let it rise and then you can refrigerate it for up to 2 weeks.  The longer On baking day you follow the directions on Part 2, which only take 5 minutes of actual work.   We now bake bread several times a week.
